FOTHERBY PARISH COUNCIL
Dear Sir/Madam
You are hereby summoned to attend the ANNUAL meeting of Fotherby Parish Council on Monday 11 May 2026 to follow on from the meeting with parishioners commencing at 7.00 pm. It is expected that the meeting will commence between 7.15 and 7.30 pm. The meetings will be held in St Mary's Church.
A discussion period will take place prior to the order of business in order that District and/or County Councilors together with Parishioners may use the discussion time as an Open Forum.

BUSINESS TO BE TRANSACTED
1. Election of Chair of the Parish Council and signing of the Declaration of Acceptance of Office as Chair
2. Election of Vice Chair of the Parish Council
Suspend the meeting to allow a period of public participation/forum (if applicable) and resume the parish council meeting after the public participation/forum.
3. Acceptance of Office
4. Apologies with reasons for absence
To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Parish Clerk prior to the meeting.
5. Declarations of Interests
To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests and any written requests for dispensation.
6. Approval of Minutes of 14.4.26.
7. Clerks update – To cover any items brought to the attention of the Clerk or any other Councilor.
8. Matters Arising from Action Plan/Minutes.
9. Finance
To agree cheques for payment
To approve any other expenditure supported by a successful proposal.
10. ANNUAL GOVERNANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY RETURN 2025-2026

c) To Execute Certificate of Exemption 2025 – 2026
To consider if the Parish Council is exempt from a Limited Assurance Review.
To resolve to declare that the Parish council is exempt from A Limited Review.
d) To Execute review of effectiveness of internal audit 2025 – 2026
e) To Execute Annual Governance Statement 2025 – 2026
To carry out a review of the effectiveness of the system of internal control and prepare the Annual Governance Statement.
To consider the findings of the and approve the Annual Governance Statement by resolution
To Approve the statement explaining why the parish council has not met Assertation 10.
f) To Approve Accounting Statements 2025 – 2026
To consider the Accounting Statements by the members meeting as a whole;
To approve the Accounting Statements by resolution;
To ensure the Accounting Statements are signed and dated by the person presiding at the meeting at which that approval is given.
